News Center Report (Text and Photos by the Party Committee Office/Administrative Office, Tang Yuqin from the United Front Work Department of CPC LZPU Committee)On November 14, 2025, the LZPU team distinguished itself among 26 strong contenders at the 4th Guangxi International Student Chinese Character Dictation Competition, demonstrating outstanding Chinese language proficiency and composed on-site performance to clinch Group B's second prize with an impressive fourth-place finish. Moreover, in the individual competition—where top talent converged—LZPU's international students also excelled: Nguyen Thi Huyen from Vietnam and Zuchriyan Alfin Sukmana from Indonesia each secured the second prize in Group B and Group C, respectively; Ryo Carnavaro from Indonesia also won the third prize in Group B.
"We won an award! Our dream has finally come true!" As the winners were announced, LZPU's international student representatives hugged each other in excitement, their pride and joy beyond words.
"I used to think Chinese characters were very difficult. The homophones confused me and I was afraid to write them," Zuchriyan Alfin Sukmana shared emotionally while holding his second prize certificate. "But through this period of practice, I've come to enjoy writing Chinese characters and have gradually figured out how to write them! Though practicing was tough, every moment was worth it!" The team members added that, through systematic preparation and the live competition, they've gained a deeper appreciation for the unique blend of form, sound, and meaning in Chinese characters, further experienced the depth of Chinese culture, and improved their proficiency with each round of practice.
LZPU has participated in the dictation competition for three consecutive years, earning numerous noteworthy results. We place great emphasis on teaching Chinese and promoting Chinese culture among international students, providing a positive learning environment through diversified courses and activities. These achievements reflect our excellence in international Chinese education. Moving forward, LZPU will continue to foster cultural exchange between China and other nations, with the goal of helping international students master Chinese and become ambassadors of friendship and culture.
