From News Center (Text by Qin Weiyin, International Exchange Department; Photo by Han Yiyang, International Exchange Department) On the morning of January 14, a three-member delegation led by Vugar Mammadov, Head of the Department of Financial and Administrative Affairs at the State Agency for Vocational Education under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, visited Liuzhou Polytechnic University (LZPU). The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on the implementation of industry-education integration, international cooperation pathways, development of training bases, and talent training models. Qiu Fuming, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC LZPU Committee and Vice President of LZPU, together with Li Yunshun, Officer of the Asian Development Bank Loan Project Leading Group Office and Deputy Director of the Guangxi Teachers Training Center under the Department of Education of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, accompanied the delegation for the visit and participated in the discussions.

At the meeting, Qiu Fuming extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He emphasized that LZPU always adheres to an open and cooperative approach, actively responds to the Belt and Road Initiative, and looks forward to working with Azerbaijan in the field of vocational education. Vugar Mammadov highly commended LZPU for the significant achievements in developing training bases, innovating talent cultivation models, and advancing industry-education integration. He explained that Azerbaijan is actively advancing the modernization of vocational education and plans to construct and renovate multiple vocational institutions. However, the country faces challenges such as limited research capacity and a lack of comprehensive teacher training. He stated that China’s rapid progress and proven experience in vocational education, especially its models of school-enterprise education collaboration and training base operations, offer valuable reference for Azerbaijan.

The delegation visited the School of Liuzhou Luosifen Industry, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and the School of Automotive Engineering, where they toured various training base facilities and observed teaching activities. They expressed strong interest in LZPU’s approach of leveraging regional industries and deepening school-enterprise collaboration, and inquired in detail about the integration of training courses with actual enterprise production processes.

Both sides agreed that China and Azerbaijan have shared goals in modernizing vocational education and supporting industrial upgrading, and that there is broad potential for cooperation. Moving forward, under the guidance and support of the Department of Education of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, LZPU will maintain close communication with the Azerbaijani side, strive to advance the implementation of the cooperation programs as soon as possible, and work together to promote the high-quality development of vocational education under the Belt and Road Initiative.
