First Batch! E-Textbooks Co-constructed by Chinese and Indonesian Vocational Colleges Initiated by LZPU Officially Launched
News from LZPU News Network (Text & Photos / Shen Shiyi, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering)Recently, the first batch of e-textbooks co-developed by multiple vocational colleges from China and Indonesia was officially launched on Google Books. Following the certification of the specialty standards for Mechatronics Technology (Junior College) and Mechatronic Engineering Technology (Undergraduate), as well as 28 course standards by the education authorities of both countries, this is another breakthrough achievement of the Indonesia-China Vocational Education Excellence Project (ICVEEP) initiated and implemented by our university. It marks that the vocational education cooperation between the two countries has moved from the co-construction of standards to a new stage of co-creation and sharing of educational resources.
The six e-textbooks launched this time are all professional textbooks for mechatronics, covering mechanical design, machine vision application, computer-aided drawing and other fields. Each textbook is co-compiled by one Chinese vocational college and one Indonesian polytechnic, realizing content alignment, language adaptation and technical synchronization, which closely fits the actual situation of vocational education in Indonesia and the talent demands of local Chinese-funded manufacturing enterprises.
Among them, Mechanical Design was completed by Teacher Lu Yuanfang from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of our university and Associate Professor Insan Kamil, M.Pd from Politeknik Negeri Batam of Indonesia, covering the whole process of content compilation, case refinement and digital development. Many high-level vocational colleges in China, including Hebei University of Industry and Technology, Shaanxi Institute of National Defense Industry Vocational and Technical College, have also led the cooperation with Indonesian institutions in compiling textbooks such as Digital Design of Mechanical Products and Advanced Programming and Application of PLC Systems. According to the project implementation plan, Chinese and Indonesian colleges will jointly compile a total of 20 mechatronics textbooks, forming high-quality digital teaching resources covering multiple majors and reflecting the characteristics of vocational education in both countries.
The ICVEEP is a professional teaching standard and resource co-construction project initiated by our university under the guidance and support of the National Teaching Steering Committee for Mechanical Majors, the Indonesian Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs, and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Technology, authorized by the Association of Presidents of Indonesian State Polytechnics, and relying on the China-Indonesia Vocational Education Industry-Education Alliance. Since the launch of the project, following the construction path of "teacher training – major research – curriculum development – standard and resource construction – pilot implementation – application and promotion", and taking Mechatronics Technology (Junior College) and Mechatronic Engineering Technology (Undergraduate) as pilot majors, our university has jointly carried out standard and resource construction with many colleges and universities from China and Indonesia.
At present, the project has completed the development of 2 specialty standards and 28 course standards for Mechatronics Technology and Mechatronic Engineering Technology, which have obtained dual certification from the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs of Indonesia and the National Teaching Steering Committee for Mechanical Vocational Education. The project team is steadily carrying out the construction of textbooks and online open courses. The launch of the first batch of e-textbooks is the result of the precise connection between the professional advantages of many high-level vocational colleges in China and the demand for vocational education in Indonesia. In the future, China and Indonesia will continue to deepen cooperation in textbook development, teacher exchange, talent training and other fields based on the ICVEEP project, and promote the in-depth and solid development of vocational education cooperation between the two countries.
